Margarita Hernández Ortiz, the General Coordinator of Research, Postgraduate Studies, and Linkage (CGIPV), highlighted the importance of innovation and inter-sectoral collaboration during these challenging times. The "Ambu bag" ventilator operates by automatically and controllably supplying an air-oxygen mixture directly to a patient's airway via a reanimation bag.

This rapid production capacity is bolstered by the availability of local suppliers in Guadalajara, ensuring a swift procurement of necessary components. This initiative stands in contrast to recent large-scale imports, such as a shipment of 211 ventilators from the U.S. that recently arrived in Toluca, Mexico, underscoring the potential of domestic manufacturing to address critical healthcare needs.
