Marietta Man Arrested for Robbing 4-Year-Old Girl
MARIETTA, Ga. (April 11, 2024) - In a shocking incident that has shaken the community, Cobb County police have arrested a Marietta man for robbing a young child.
The incident unfolded on April 10 just after 3 p.m. at the Magic Coin Laundry on South Cobb Drive. Disturbing surveillance footage captured the chilling moment when Jose Daniel Noyola, 40, of Marietta, approached a four-year-old girl and forcibly stole a gold chain and pendant she was wearing before fleeing the scene.
The child's horrified parents immediately contacted the police, reporting the heinous theft.
Undeterred by the man's swift escape, detectives embarked on a thorough investigation, relentlessly pursuing every lead and leveraging all available resources. Their tireless efforts paid off days later when they apprehended Noyola, who confessed to the despicable crime.
"This was a reprehensible act that targeted an innocent and vulnerable child," said Cobb County Police Chief Ernest Kirby. "Our officers will not tolerate such atrocious behavior and will use all available resources to bring perpetrators to justice."
Noyola was promptly taken into custody and charged with robbery by intimidation and cruelty to children. However, the story does not end there. In a heartwarming gesture of compassion, Detective Janke arranged a meeting with the young victim and her family, where he personally returned the stolen chain and pendant.
"The unwavering determination of Detective Janke and his team is a testament to the exceptional commitment and service that defines the Cobb County Police Department," said Mayor Nikki Smith. "Our community is indebted to their tireless efforts to protect our citizens, especially the most vulnerable among us."
The incident serves as a chilling reminder that even the most innocent members of our society are not immune to the horrors of crime. It is imperative that we remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
Cobb County Police urge anyone with information about this case or any other crime to contact the department at (770) 499-4111 or submit a tip anonymously at cobbsheriff.org.
