The game in question, Ragnarok: Monster World, is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) based on the popular Ragnarok Online franchise. It was launched in March 2024 on Ronin, a side chain designed for gaming and the major network Ethereum.

Highlighting the breach of trust, Sky Mavis's Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO) stated that they are ending their partnership with Ragnarok: Monster World developer 0x& due to repeated disregard for guidance and a secret deal with another blockchain, which violates their agreement.

The trust has been broken to such a degree that we are ending our professional relationship with 0x& the team behind "Ragnarok: Monster World," said Aleksander Larsen, known as "Psycheout" on X.

This would also lead to the removal of the game and its assets from Sky Mavis products.

"We will be removing "Ragnarok: Monster World" from the Ronin Market and shutting down the game's community channels. In addition, we will no longer be promoting the game or providing any form of support for the project. To be clear, Ragnarok NFTs will still be tradable within Ronin's open ecosystem," he added.

Moreover, in an update, Sky Mavis acknowledged the community's feedback and announced that instead of removing Ragnarok: Monster World's assets from the Ronin marketplace, they will remove the project's verification checkmark.

This will be our final comment on this matter. The leadership at 0x& has made a series of decisions that have broken their commitments to us and the Ronin community. Despite our best efforts to persuade them otherwise, they have left us with no recourse. As we move forward, we will continue to invest in and support teams who are dedicated to building a strong [Ronin Network] and forging a vibrant Web3 gaming ecosystem that benefits everyone,' said the COO.

On the other hand, in its own X post, Ragnarok: Monster World responded by stating that it is disappointed by Sky Mavis's announcement, as the situation impacts not just the developers but the entire community built within the Ronin ecosystem.
