The game in question, Ragnarok: Monster World, is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) based on the popular Ragnarok Online franchise. It was launched in March 2024 on Ronin, a side chain designed for gaming and the major network Ethereum.

Highlighting the breach of trust, Sky Mavis's Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO) stated that they are ending their partnership with Ragnarok: Monster World developer 0x& due to repeated disregard for guidance and a secret deal with another blockchain, which violates their agreement.

"We will be removing "Ragnarok: Monster World" from the Ronin Market and shutting down the game's community channels. Despite our best efforts to persuade them otherwise, they have left us with no recourse. On the other hand, in its own X post, Ragnarok: Monster World responded by stating that it is disappointed by Sky Mavis's announcement, as the situation impacts not just the developers but the entire community built within the Ronin ecosystem.
