Deep Echo 100% (Hard Demon) by DangerousROBOT - Geometry Dash

Feb 27, 2026 at 09:05 pm Laserduck42

Cave sampling map! Deep Echo is a hard demon made for Audieovisual's sampling creator contest, which requires contestants to make a unique level from assets sampled from other levels, with appropriate citation of course. This level samples from many different creators including Nasgubb, R3XX3R, Djudjeito, OliSW, and Cometface/100Foxes; and uses these assets to create a cave exploration journey. This level was also nominated for GD awards 2025, and was one of two hard demons nominated, the other being Fe, so I decided to give it a go. This level is essentially a progressively descending cave journey that gets more and more unusual as you go deeper. You start near the surface in a mineshaft area and a surface cave with plantlife, then venture into darker tunnels where visibility is obscured. Then you drop into a colourful crystal lined cavern that uses the moon blocks we know and love from Apollo 11. After this though, the level gets progressively more surreal. You drop into an area with strange blocks with glowing carvings, a narrow passage with strange swirling portal like structures, and then arrive at what appears to be an underground temple with giant star filled voids in the background. After this, the level becomes very dark, and then a lot more open as you arrive in a huge empty area with nothing but floating blocks and a swirling orange glow in the background. This appears to be where the cave leads, but where is it? Is this the core of some magical energy that is causing the anomalies further up into the cave? The level leaves much unanswered, but this very much adds to the atmosphere and world of the level. A dive into the unknown. Overall to make such a unique and immersive journey out of assets from other levels is very impressive, and it really is a shame it got disqualified from the contest due to being too hard. The gameplay is mostly pretty ok, but it has a few issues. The level is 5 minutes long and the first 25% is very easy and slow, meaning you often have to sit though upwards of a minute of fairly monotonous gameplay every attempt. The gameplay in this section isn't bad, but it is very low cps and a lot easier than the rest of the level. The only place you're likely to die is forgetting to jump over a spiky plant. This brings me on to the jump indicators. This level has a 'Full immersion mode' which removes all jump indicators. Activating this definitely improved the level for me as I find being over reliant on jump indicators to not be very fun and detracts from the learning experience. However, some parts of this level don't function as well without jump indicators, especially the ball. The ball has very limited visibility, so not having jump indicators basically turns it into a full memory section. Not necessarily a bad thing but it is significantly harder without jump indicators. The first robot is pretty fun but has a quite abrupt transition into it. The cube after is also made a decent bit harder without indicators as a lot of the blocks move, however there are good indications of where the blocks will move to, and this part acts as a suspenseful break. The UFO is one of the coolest parts as it contains a very interesting asymmetrical dual if you go for the coin. It's not that much harder but feels really cool to pull off. The second robot also has a really abrupt transition, and also contains a coin, but this coin is a lot harder. I died here quite a bit, though luckily only once past it. Some of the timings in this part are quite awkwardly structured. The spider after is fun but weirdly high cps for the rest of the level, and the last cube is basically a don't choke test as it's super easy but stressful. Overall pretty fun gameplay but with a couple of issues that brought my enjoyment down a little. Difficulty wise, think this is a good solid hard demon, probably around Double Dash-Different Descent difficulty, so around T12 on GDDL. I recommend this level if you want a slower paced XL hard demon, though do be wary of the issues I listed and probably keep indicators on and don't go for coins if this is challenging for you. Level name: Deep Echo Creator: DangerousROBOT Music: CursedSnake - Calm Difficulty: Hard demon 10* Enjoyment: 70/100 Attempts: 772 Worst fail: 79% Hardest part: 68-74% Best part: 55-67% #geometrydash
