title: UK households with baby mats in their home issued urgent health alert

The Office for Product Safety & Standards (OPSS) has issued an urgent alert for parents.

MiniDream Organic 5-in-1 Baby Activity Gym, sold for £49, has been recalled by the OPSS.

The product poses a serious risk of entrapment and a high risk of asphyxiation.

The MiniDream Organic 5-in-1 Baby Activity Gym, which is sold online for £49, has been recalled by the Office for Product Safety & Standards (OPSS) after posing a serious risk of entrapment and a high risk of asphyxiation to young children.

The product is sold on Amazon and is designed to provide babies with a safe and stimulating place to play. However, the OPSS has advised parents to stop using the product immediately and contact the distributor for a refund.

The recall comes after Local Authority Trading Standards inspected the product and found that it did not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011.

The product's detachable toys included fabric loops sewn into the side of one of the seams, which were large enough for a young child to insert their finger into and twist, causing injuries.

The product also presents a high risk of asphyxiation as the fabric on the star toy split at a lower than permissible force, allowing access to internal fibrous filling.

A young child may place this filling in their mouth, causing them to choke and/or asphyxiate.

The product has been removed from sale by Amazon.

The barcode affected is 5060727542240. In a press release, it warned: "Owners should stop using the products immediately. Contact the distributor you purchased from to request redress"

The OPSS Product Safety Alerts, Reports and Recalls Site can be accessed online.
