dYdX Announces Layoffs Affecting 35% of Core Team as Part of Restructuring

dYdX, a decentralized cryptocurrency exchange, has announced layoffs affecting 35% of its core team members as part of a restructuring effort.

In a blog post on Oct. 29, dYdX CEO Antonio Juliano announced the departure of several team members and expressed gratitude for their contributions to the company.

“You have been dedicated teammates through the good and bad. You continued to build dYdX, even when I did not.”

The layoffs come amid Juliano's recent return to the helm of dYdX, following a six-month hiatus during which Ivo Crnkovic-Rubsamen served as CEO. Crnkovic-Rubsamen's current status within the organization is unclear.

Juliano, who originally stepped down as CEO in May to assume the roles of chairman and president at dYdX Trading, highlighted the importance of founder-led leadership upon his return.

“I am back because I believe that dYdX must be a founder-led company to succeed in the next phase of competition,” he stated.

The specific roles or departments impacted by the reorganization were not disclosed in the blog post.
