However, Professor Steve Hanke, an applied economics professor at Johns Hopkins University, has maintained his long-held skepticism towards Bitcoin, emphasizing its inability to challenge fiat currencies or precious metals like gold.

In an interview with David Lin published on May 12th, Hanke asserted that the prospects of Bitcoin replacing fiat currencies were akin to a "sideshow in Las Vegas." His sentiments align with a period marked by increased institutional investment in Bitcoin, largely driven by the introduction of exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
