Despite the non-transferability, token holders can immediately begin staking and delegating their Eigen tokens to operators of Eigen's native data availability solution, EigenDA. The initial supply of Eigen tokens at launch stands at 1.67 billion, as per the Eigen Foundation. Notably, 45% of the token supply has been allocated to the network's community and ecosystem. Within this allocation, 15% is earmarked for "stakedrops," with 5% being distributed in the first season, which commences today. An additional 15% is designated for community initiatives and another 15% for ecosystem development.

Over 280,000 users who interacted with the platform prior to April 29 will receive an additional 100 Eigen tokens. This adjustment ensures that eligible participants receive a minimum allocation of 110 tokens, valued at approximately $1,000 based on pre-market valuations.
