Hughes, 23, had 92 points (17 goals, 75 assists) in 82 games this season, leading all defensemen in the NHL in scoring for the second consecutive season. He also led all Canucks skaters in points, assists, power-play points (34), average ice time (24:41) and plus-minus (plus-38).

Hughes helped the Canucks finish second in the Western Conference and reach the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2011. He had 17 points (four goals, 13 assists) in 17 playoff games.

Alexander Edler is first with 409 points in 925 games. Hughes also set the Canucks record for plus-minus in a single season (plus-38).
