米国の CPI は 0.3% で安定、インフレはわずかに低下

The latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) report from the U.S. government shows that inflation in the U.S. stayed the same at 0.3% in May. This stable rate offers some hope for financial markets worried about rising prices.

米国政府の最新の消費者物価指数（CPI）報告によると、5月の米国のインフレ率は0.3％で横ばいとなった。この安定金利は、物価上昇を懸念する金融市場にとって一定の希望となる。

Meanwhile, the CPI, which measures the costs of goods and services across the country, didn’t change from the previous month, but it increased by 3.3% compared to a year ago. This marks a slight decrease from the 3.4% annual inflation rate reported in April.

一方、全国のモノやサービスのコストを示すCPIは前月から変化はなかったものの、前年比では3.3％上昇した。これは、4月に報告された年間インフレ率3.4％からわずかに低下したことになる。

Breaking down the numbers further, the report showed that the food index rose 0.4% in May after increasing 0.2% in April. The energy index also saw an uptick of 1.7% last month, following a 1.3% increase the previous month.

数字をさらに内訳すると、報告書は食品指数が4月に0.2％上昇した後、5月には0.4％上昇したことを示した。エネルギー指数も前月の1.3％上昇に続き、先月は1.7％上昇した。

On the other hand, the commodities less food and energy index rose 0.2% in May, showing a slight slowdown from the 0.3% increase in April. This index, which is closely watched by the Federal Reserve, rose 3.4% over the past 12 months.

一方、食料とエネルギーを除いた一次産品指数は５月に０．２％上昇し、４月の０．３％上昇から若干鈍化した。 FRBが注目しているこの指数は過去12カ月で3.4％上昇した。

Economists had anticipated a slowdown in headline inflation to 0.1% for the month and an increase in the core CPI to 3.2%. However, both figures deviated from these expectations.

エコノミストらは同月の総合インフレ率が０．１％に減速し、コアＣＰＩは３．２％に上昇すると予想していた。しかし、どちらの数字もこれらの予想からは外れました。

The report also showed that the gasoline index increased 3.1% in May after rising 1.1% in April. This increase was largely due to a 5.2% rise in the price of regular gasoline.

Furthermore, the natural gas index rose 1.1% last month after decreasing 0.3% in April. The electricity index also saw an increase of 0.4% in May, following a 0.2% uptick the previous month.
