In a move to expand its offerings, CoinMarketCap is venturing into the launchpad domain, aiming to connect promising crypto projects with a broad audience. This launchpad will serve as a platform for pre-TGE (pre-token generation event) cryptoassets, marking a new chapter in CoinMarketCap's journey.

This initiative follows Arkham Intelligence's launch of its own perpetual futures exchange last year, and it is part of a broader trend among data providers venturing into exchange services. While Aster is also a perpetuals exchange, it is not currently indicated as entering a long-term partnership with CoinMarketCap.

Several factors led to the selection of Aster as the inaugural TGE project for CMC Launch. Backed by YZi Labs, an independent Binance spinoff, Aster is focused on redesigning the perpetuals exchange ecosystem with features like non-custodial trading, minting and staking, and robust infrastructure.

Following the completion of the AST launch, CoinMarketCap will continue to identify high-quality pre-TGE crypto projects for integration into CMC Launch.
