‘Taste of Poland’ is the name of an international food campaign launched in Qatar.

Lulu Hypermarket has launched an international food campaign called ‘Taste of Poland’.

The campaign, which is being launched in Qatar and will run across all Lulu Hypermarket outlets in the country until May 14, aims to offer shoppers a unique cultural and culinary experience.

It will see a wide variety of authentic Polish-branded products, from everyday essentials to traditional Polish delicacies, being showcased amid festive Poland-themed displays.

The event was inaugurated at the Lulu Hypermarket branch at The Pearl-Qatar by Tomasz Sadziński, the Ambassador of Poland to Qatar. It also included a live cooking session and tasting of classic Polish dishes prepared by chefs from Polka Restaurant - Qatar’s first and only Polish eatery.

Ambassador Sadziński described the initiative as a celebration of Polish heritage and a "promise of stronger bilateral trade."

He added: "Last year alone, Poland exported over €50 billion worth of food products globally, and from Qatar alone, nearly €37 million went into imports of Polish food goods."

The ambassador also unveiled Lulu Group’s plans to establish a sourcing and collection centre in Poland, a move which he described as a "game-changer" for streamlining Polish food imports into the Gulf.

As Polish cuisine slowly gains popularity in Qatar, Sadziński expressed optimism about future growth.

“While Polka is currently the only Polish restaurant here, many hotel chefs in Qatar are already familiar with dishes like pierogi and placki. With initiatives like this one and the increasing interest in European cuisine, we are hopeful that more Polish restaurants will emerge in the future,” he concluded.
