May 13, 2025 at 02:14 am
Dublin, Ireland, May 12th, 2025, Chainwire
AB DAO and the AB Charity Foundation have joined forces to organize the inaugural "Tech-Driven Philanthropy Closed-Door Forum" in Dublin, Ireland. The forum brought together prominent figures to discuss how emerging technologies can transform the philanthropic landscape.
The forum was chaired by Mr. Bertie Ahern, Chairman of the AB Charity Foundation, former Prime Minister of Ireland, and former President of the European Council. In his keynote speech, Mr. Ahern highlighted the crucial role of technology and trust in the post-war era, calling for a "new order" for philanthropy.
"We need to build trustworthy systems for public good in the digital age," said Mr. Ahern. "The time has come to integrate blockchain, AI, and other useful technologies into the fabric of global philanthropy."
Also present was H.E. Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of Nigeria and former Chairperson of the African Union, who shared his insights on the potential of technology to empower billions of people around the world. Mr. Malcolm Byrne, Irish Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Committee on Artificial Intelligence, contributed his expertise on the responsible development and deployment of AI for societal benefit.
Together, the distinguished guests engaged in lively discussions on topics such as:
* The role of blockchain in enhancing transparency and accountability in charitable donations.
* How AI can be leveraged to optimize grantmaking and identify emerging social needs.
* The importance of cross-cultural collaboration and cooperation in philanthropic initiatives.
* The potential of decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) to mobilize and engage diverse stakeholders in philanthropic projects.
Key proposals from the forum will be consolidated by the AB Charity Foundation and submitted to the United Nations and global partner networks, continuing the joint effort to drive "technology for good" in real-world initiatives.
