Two high-profile food recalls are at the top of the list of recent Walmart recalls

Apr 18, 2025 at 09:00 pm

Ready-to-eat celery sticks and Frito Lay Tortilla Chips were recalled due to possible contamination or allergy issues. Other recalls cover baby swings and portable chargers.

Two high-profile food recalls are at the top of the list of recent Walmart recalls

A single lot of washed and ready-to-eat Marketside Celery Sticks is being recalled due to possible listeria contamination, part of a recent series of recalls by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The packages of celery sticks have a best if used by date of March 23, and they are sold in the produce section of food retailers.

However, the bacteria could keep the food fresh in freezers for a longer period of time.

The recall was announced after a sample of the celery sticks at a Georgia Walmart location tested positive for listeria.

The celery sticks are part of a larger recall announced last week by Duda Farms. The recall covers a single lot no. 22688 of the prepared celery sticks in 12-ounce packages. The celery sticks were distributed in Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Vermont, West Virginia and Washington D.C.

The prepared celery sticks are made with fresh celery that is washed, peeled and cut at a specialized facility in Yuma, Arizona. No other lots or varieties of prepared celery sticks are included in the recall.

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, or others with weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals may experience short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, muscle pain or fatigue.

People who have consumed any of the recalled prepared celery sticks and are experiencing symptoms are advised to contact a healthcare professional.

The prepared celery sticks are sold in the produce section of food retailers. Consumers are advised to check their refrigerators or freezers for the recalled prepared celery sticks and discard them immediately.

People can also contact customer service at 800-248-8383 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is advising consumers to immediately discard a limited number of 13 oz. bags of Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips due to a possibility of an undeclared milk allergen.

People with an allergy or sensitivity to milk could run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction.

The affected chips are part of lot no. 2206 best if used by Dec. 27, 2023, and they were distributed in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

The chips were sold in Walmart stores.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of IxDregan Infant Swings due to a suffocation hazard.

The swings, sold at Walmart stores and online for about $160, have an incline angle greater than 10 degrees, which can pose a suffocation hazard to infants. Additionally, some models of the swings contain button cell or coin batteries that can be a choking hazard for children.

The recall covers all models of the IxDregan Infant Swings, which are made of wood and metal and have a soft fabric seat. The swings are powered by a wall adapter and can be adjusted to different positions.

The swings were sold at Walmart stores nationwide and online at Walmart.com from January 2023 to March 2023. They were also sold on other e-commerce sites, such as Amazon and eBay.

The IxDregan Infant Swings are part of a recent series of recalls of baby products due to safety concerns.

Earlier this year, the CPSC recalled several models of baby swings and rockers due to a tip-over hazard. The swings and rockers, sold by Fisher-Price and other brands, could easily tip over if a child climbed on them or pulled on them.

The CPSC also recalled several models of baby carriers due to a fall hazard. The carriers, sold by Ergo Baby and other brands, could easily detach from the parent’s body, allowing the child to fall.

Consumers are urged to stop using the IxDregan Infant Swings immediately and return them to the nearest Walmart store for a full refund. Consumers can also contact IxDregan at 866-968-8487 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or email at info@ixdregan.com.

Consumers can also visit the IxDregan website at www.ixdregan.com.
