Exploiter returned 5913.2 ETH to Gala Games and also official confirmation came to the public domain by the Gala Games team.

Gala Games Exploiter Returned 5913.2 ETH, Confirms the Team

An unidentified hacker who exploited Gala Games in May has returned 5913.2 ETH ($22.3 million) to the blockchain gaming company, according to on-chain blockchain investigators.

The hacker exploited the Gala Games platform on May 20, minting nearly $200 million worth of GALA tokens. A small portion of the minted tokens were sold before the wallet was frozen.

On May 21, several blockchain investigators noted that the hacker returned 5913.2 ETH to Gala Games. This amount of ETH was secured by the exploiter via the sale of a small portion of the minted token.

Gala’s advisor also confirmed the return of funds, based on on-chain data.

“Not at my computer so I can’t confirm the address, but it looks like the $GALA exploiter has just returned the ETH they got from the hack!”

The Gala Games team later confirmed the recovery of funds on X (formerly Twitter). They stated that they will now swap ETH coins for Gala tokens and compensate the affected users.

“Update: The funds from the recent security incident have been recovered.

At this time we will be using #GalaSwap to convert the Ethereum back to $GALA.”

In a blog post, the Gala team credited their swift and effective response, which involved federal law enforcement agencies, in putting pressure on the hacker.

The current trading price of the Gala token is $0.044, up 4.5% over the last 24 hours.

The trade price graph of the Gala token shows that the trade price remained almost unfazed, with a minor dump, following the news of the hack on Monday.
