Vehicle Collision on Boulevard Saint-Joseph Leaves One Passenger Injured
Drummondville, Quebec - On Thursday morning, a two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Boulevard Saint-Joseph and Rue Saint-Philippe, resulting in the hospitalization of a passenger with minor injuries.
The incident involved a Honda SUV and a Honda sedan that collided at the intersection in the northbound direction, near the Laser Force establishment. Emergency crews responded to the scene, and firefighters were required to extricate the passenger from the sedan, which had overturned onto its driver's side.
"The passenger sustained non-life-threatening minor injuries and was transported to the hospital as a precautionary measure," stated Louis-Philippe Ruel, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.
The driver of the SUV and the driver of the sedan did not suffer any injuries.
The collision necessitated the closure of three of the four lanes of Boulevard Saint-Joseph during the emergency response. One lane was closed in the southbound direction, while both lanes were closed in the northbound direction.
Preliminary investigations suggest that one of the vehicles failed to yield the right of way, leading to the collision.
Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident. The intersection has been reopened to traffic.
