How to Change Bitcoin Address on Cash App
In Cash App, your Bitcoin address, a crucial alphanumeric code like a virtual mailbox, can be changed by navigating to Bitcoin settings, finding "Generate New Address," and carefully copying the new address for safekeeping and sharing with senders.
Mar 20, 2025 at 04:16 pm
Open and log in to the Cash App
Find the Cash App app icon, which is usually on a green background with a white dollar sign "$" on it, and click to open it on your mobile home screen.
If you are logging in for the first time, you need to enter the mobile phone number, email address or username you used when registering. After that, enter the password as prompted to complete the login operation. If you forget your password, you can click the "Forgot Password" option to reset your password based on the verification code sent to your registered mobile phone or email address.
In order to ensure account security, many users have enabled two-step verification function. When logging in, in addition to your password, you also need to enter the verification code sent to your phone, or use a dynamic verification code such as Google Authenticator. After completing the verification, you can successfully enter the main interface of the Cash App.
In the upper left corner of the main interface of the Cash App, there is an icon similar to a personal avatar. Click this icon. This action will pop up a sidebar with various account setting options.
In the sidebar, swipe down the screen to look for the "Bitcoin" option. This option may appear in different locations based on the updates of the Cash App and your account usage habits, but it will generally be in a more conspicuous location so that users can quickly find Bitcoin-related feature settings. After finding it, click the "Bitcoin" option to enter the Bitcoin function page.

View the current Bitcoin address
Once you enter the Bitcoin feature page, you will see multiple options, including a "Save Bitcoin" option, click on it. This operation will bring you into the Bitcoin deposit-related interface.
In this interface, you will clearly see the currently bound Bitcoin address. The address is composed of a string of irregular letters and numbers, and the Cash App usually generates a corresponding QR code for this address. Through this QR code, you can more conveniently let others send you Bitcoin. The other party just needs to scan the QR code using the Bitcoin wallet application that supports scanning the QR code to automatically identify your Bitcoin address.
Initiate the Bitcoin address change process
On the page that displays the current Bitcoin address, carefully look for "Generate new address" or buttons with similar meanings. The location of this button may vary depending on the version of the Cash App, but it will generally be in the area near the address.
After clicking the "Generate New Address" button, Cash App will immediately generate a brand new Bitcoin address in the background. The generation process usually takes only a few seconds, during which the page may have a brief loading prompt.
After the new address is generated, the Cash App will be displayed to you in a conspicuous way. At this point, be sure to carefully check the accuracy of the new address. Because once the change is confirmed, the new address will take effect immediately, and all subsequent Bitcoin reception operations will depend on this new address.
Copy and properly save the new Bitcoin address
After the new address is generated and confirmed to be correct, you need to copy it so that it can be accurately provided to the other party when you need to receive Bitcoin. Next to the new address, there is usually a "Copy" button. Click this button and the new Bitcoin address will be copied to the phone's clipboard.
To ensure the secure storage of addresses, it is recommended that you record the new address in multiple secure places. For example, you can use the sticky note application that comes with your phone, create a new note, paste the new address, and set a strong password protection for this note. In addition, you can also consider using some security software that is specifically used to record cryptocurrency-related information. This type of software usually has higher encryption protection measures, which can better ensure the security of your Bitcoin address.
Also, don't forget to inform those who may send you Bitcoins that you have changed the Bitcoin address and let them use the new address the next time they send Bitcoins, to avoid receiving issues with Bitcoins sent to the old address.
