Who's behind ALGO: The Founder and Team of Algorand
1. Silvio Micali: The Founder of ALGO
Silvio Micali is an Italian-American cryptographer and professor of computer science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is best known for his work on cryptographic protocols, including zero-knowledge proofs and verifiable random functions.
In 1999, Micali co-founded Akamai Technologies, a content delivery network that serves a significant portion of the world's Internet traffic. He also co-founded Algorand, a blockchain platform that uses a specialized consensus protocol to achieve high transaction throughput and efficiency.
