Crypto analyst and investor Scott Melker continues to highlight what he believes is a key factor in the price of the second-largest cryptocurrency, Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH).

In a recent post on X, Melker, also known as the “Wolf Of All Street,” shared several insights into why he thinks the market is misinterpreting the true strength of Ethereum.

What Happened: Melker began by discussing the narrative surrounding Ethereum, which he says is being "hated on" by many. He attributes this to several concerns, including the cost of gas fees, Ethereum's speed, and its perceived complexity. However, Melker argues that this attention is a testament to Ethereum's significance.

"Everyone's talking about it. Good or bad, people are paying attention. This isn't 1999 when the '99ers' were buying Netscape and everyone else was thinking, 'What is the point of the internet?'" Melker stated.

He further noted that while Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) is being touted as a safe haven asset in a macroeconomic downturn, Melker believes the narrative is misplaced.

"We're in a 1937 bear market, not a 1939 war. Maybe that's why no one can agree on what year the bull market ended (it was 2021). Either way, no one is silently panicking like they do when the 'smart money' is accumulating," Melker added.

In a separate post, Melker pointed out that Ethereum's recent price action is a classic sign of strength as it's consolidating above previous resistance.

"Everyone keeps saying ETH is fading out. No one is talking about how it's making a base," Melker said.

Why It Matters: As the cryptocurrency ecosystem expands, new projects and trends emerge, capturing the attention of the crypto community. While memecoins like PEPE and BALD have been generating significant buzz, Melker suggests that this hype is short-lived.

In contrast, he highlights Ethereum's long-term value creation.

"The short-term hype is noisy. The long-term build is silent. We're pivoting to real infrastructure with new highs in the Layer-2 ecosystem," Melker concluded.

The Ethereum Foundation has also launched its "Trillion Dollar Security (1TS)" initiative to enable secured storage of over $1,000 for each user onchain and support single contracts holding more than $1 trillion.

This initiative recognizes the growing demand for blockchain infrastructure that can underpin global financial systems.

1TS is a three-part plan to enhance Ethereum's resilience for high-value institutional and individual use. The launch has three components: mapping, execution, and communication, each with its peculiarities and functionalities. Fredrik Svantes, Protocol Security Lead, and Josh Stark, a member of the EF management team, will serve as the project's initial co-chairs.
