選舉日儀式

現在選舉日已經過去，有必要進行一些回顧。我恪守選舉日的儀式。凌晨 5 點 35 分，我跟著一位鄰居走出選區投票站，排隊等待投票門打開。

After hearing friends complain about two and three hour waits to vote early because apparently everyone had the same idea, I expected things to be rather deserted at the polls. Not so. There were about 50 people already lined up ahead of me, the most I have experienced in my 25 years of voting there.

Even more surprising was the 50 or more behind me by the time the doors opened at 6. I had a flight out of Fort Wayne at 9, so I wondered if I could make it, given the reports from early voting times.

I was out the door at 6:15 a.m. The efficiency of the precinct poll workers was truly impressive.
