Many people fall into a psychological trap known as unit bias, where they believe lower-priced coins like XRP or Solana are better deals than Bitcoin, according to Mow. However, he argues that this thinking is misleading and can be quite costly.

To illustrate his point further, he did a quick comparison, taking the market capitalizations of Ethereum, XRP, and Solana and dividing them by 21 million—the same number as Bitcoin’s total supply.

This method shows that, on a per-unit basis, owning one “Bitcoin-equivalent” share of ETH, XRP, or SOL would actually cost much more than people assume.

“Many new investors get tricked by unit bias into thinking a coin is cheap just because it has a low price tag. E.g., ‘XRP is only $0.2, while Bitcoin is $85,000—that’s too expensive.’ But XRP has 58.3 billion tokens in circulation. Dividing its market cap by 21 million gives you ~$1.9, not $0.2.

Once investors understand how unit bias works, Mow expects many will rethink their strategies and return to Bitcoin. In his view, Bitcoin’s limited supply and strong fundamentals continue to make it the best long-term investment in the crypto space.
