The market is still processing Bitcoin's halving event last Friday, a pre-determined alteration to the crypto's monetary policy that halves the issuance of new tokens. This adjustment has further escalated Bitcoin's scarcity, placing it on par with gold, a commodity often touted as "digital gold." Gold prices have recently receded from record highs, with gold futures experiencing their steepest dollar decline since 2021 on Monday and shedding another 1% on Tuesday.

Consequently, Bitcoin's supply growth has fallen below that of gold, estimated to be ~1.7% in 2023, on a long-term basis.
