The Ethereum blockchain was successfully updated with the Pectra upgrade on May 7th. This update was successfully triggered at 6:05 AM ET, marking the largest hard fork since The Merge, last year. Pectra has brought a significant capacity boost with the new limits on how much ETH validators can stake, increasing it from 32 ETH to 2048 ETH. This provides more flexibility for validators in managing their operations.

With the Pectra upgrade, it is introducing EIP-7702, which allows temporarily abstracting accounts for externally owned accounts (EOAs). This enables users to upgrade their standard wallets into smart accounts in a single transaction.
