Florida-based pharmaceutical distribution company Wellgistics will integrate XRP for both payments and treasury management, becoming one of the first publicly-named firms in the healthcare supply chain to do so.

The company, which distributes medications to pharmacies throughout the U.S., announced Thursday that it aims to modernize payment infrastructure for pharmacies, suppliers, and manufacturers with faster settlements and lower fees using the XRP Ledger.

Wellgistics highlighted how traditional wire transfers can take up to three days and cost between $10 and $30 per transaction. In contrast, XRP transactions finalize in 3–5 seconds, with average costs under one cent, and without the friction of geographical constraints.

To support its XRP initiative, Wellgistics has secured a $50 million ELOC (expandable line of credit). The funds will help finance both the integration and the build-out of an XRP treasury reserve.
