Authorities in Thailand conducted a raid on a Bitcoin mining operation in Ratchaburi following a month of unexplained power outages in the area, which were later discovered to be caused by the illegal mining setup.

The raid, which took place on August 23, uncovered evidence suggesting that the illicit mining operations were likely the culprit behind the month-long power outages in the region, the South China Morning Post reports.

After these disturbances sparked concern, the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) and the local police were able to pinpoint the cause of the power outage to one property.
