Bitcoin (BTC) Pushes Towards $90K as Institutional Inflows Surge, Ethereum Debates Bottom
2025/04/28 09:27
Bitcoin (BTC) price is showing signs of slowing down as it stalls at the $95,000 resistance, but institutional inflows are surging, and long-term forecasts remain bullish.
What Happened: Bitcoin price rose by 10% last week, as the crypto market showed signs of a comeback. The move came amid messages from the Trump administration about low import taxes and strong corporate earnings reports, which boosted market mood.

Bitcoin price is now trading at $93,818, showing signs of slowing down after a strong run-up. The next resistance level is seen at $95,000, which could be breached if the bulls remain in control.
The relative strength index is also approaching overbought territory, while the 20-day exponential moving average is sloping upward at $88,619, which indicates that the bulls are still in charge of the market.
A decisive break above the $95,000 mark could open the door for a move toward the psychological handle at $100,000 and possibly even the $107,000 level, which is the 1.238 Fibonacci extension of the 2023 move from the lows to the highs.
Bitcoin has also been showing signs of independence from traditional markets, which could further support its upward momentum. The 30-day correlation between Bitcoin and the S&P 500 has dropped to 29%, which is significantly lower than the 60% level that was observed from March through mid-April.
This decoupling underscores Bitcoin's status as an autonomous asset class rather than a proxy for technology stocks.
In other news, Blockstream CEO Adam Back has suggested that companies holding Bitcoin in their treasuries are "front-running hyperbitcoinization." In this hypothetical scenario, Bitcoin becomes the main global currency.
According to Back, institutional adoption could increase Bitcoin's market cap to an astounding $200 trillion over the next ten years, and the actions of the U.S. Treasury are "a rational and sustainable arbitrage" arising from Bitcoin's price gains exceeding inflation over four-year cycles.
The latest remarks by President Trump concerning potential reductions or elimination of federal income tax once trade tariffs come into effect could also influence Bitcoin's path as investors seek inflation hedges.

Why It's Important: Bitcoin has been showing signs of slowing down as it stalls at the $95,000 resistance. However, the institutional inflows are still strong, and long-term forecasts for Bitcoin remain bullish.
As the U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs achieved an impressive $3.1 billion in net inflows over just five days, investor confidence in digital assets reached new heights.
Highlighting the rapid institutional adoption, Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas remarked on how quickly "flows can go from 1st gear to 5th gear."
This surge in ETF inflows came as Trump hinted at the possibility of no new tariffs and discussed eliminating income tax.
