Oct 08, 2024 at 04:04 am

Our father, William E. Loughman, passed away on his own terms October 6, 2024. We have no doubt that our mother welcomed him with open arms and may they have never ending peace!

William E. Loughman

William E. Loughman, 89, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 6, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born in Mansfield, Ohio, on March 21, 1935, to Ray and Alice Loughman. He was a 1953 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean and Vietnam War eras.

Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a man of great faith and found his home church in Cape Coral at First United Methodist. He was actively involved in the Walk to Emmaus (Gulf Coast Walk 42), which had a profound impact on his life.

Throughout his years, Bill was a member of the PM Venus Lodge 152, Marines, Korean War Vets, Amvets Post 126, Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 336, Mansfield Elks 56, and American Legion Post 16, serving as Chaplain for several of these organizations.

Bill's legacy will continue through his children, Martin (Tina) Loughman, and Vivian (Steven) Winters; grandchildren, Tiffany Winters, Stephanie (Bryan) Breinich, and Ryan Loughman; great-grandchildren, Zackary Winters, and Carlee and Callee Breinich.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Peggy Loughman, in February 2024.

Friends may gather Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield, 98 S. Diamond St., from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
