Trump's Trade Agenda Continues to Shock Global Financial Markets, Prompting a Revaluation of Bitcoin (BTC) and Equities

President Donald Trump's trade agenda has continued to shock global financial markets, leading to a revaluation of Bitcoin (BTC) and equities, which traders and investors may want to pay attention to.

Bitcoin and the crypto market has seen some huge price swings in recent weeks. This comes as traders and investors react to the impacts of tariffs.

According to a report by Venture capital firm MV Global, the spike in Trump tariffs has inadvertently positioned Bitcoin as a beneficiary.

The firm adds that the rise in US tariffs in 2025, which is now at the highest level since the 1930s, has triggered more than $10 trillion in equity losses.

“The resulting capital flight is positioning investment flows into different asset classes.”

With liquidity now slowly rebuilding, analysts say a major market revaluation is to be expected, with Bitcoin at the heart of it.

This forecast comes after MV Global’s Global Economy Index recently turned upward, which often precedes broader asset reflation. Notably, the metric tracks both cross-border capital flows and monetary conditions.

“Liquidity is quietly rebuilding across major economies. As the Global Economy Index turns upward, historical patterns suggest Bitcoin and equities may be on the cusp of a major revaluation,” the firm noted.

Indeed, Bitcoin’s price performance has been outpacing traditional markets, which aligns with its average April return of more than 34.4%. The macroeconomic instability and capital flight are the main drivers of this seasonal pattern.

From this perspective, analysts add that the current market outlook mirrors historical periods when investors moved away from dollar-centric systems in pursuit of decentralized alternatives.

Chief of product strategy at Braiins Mining Ecosystem, Tomas Greif, also highlighted that Bitcoin’s volatility aligns more closely with major equity indexes.

“If you previously thought Bitcoin was too volatile, you may want to re-evaluate your passive investment strategies for retirement,” Greif remarked.

According to head of digital assets research at VanEck, Mathew Sigel, this emerging macro backdrop may accelerate Bitcoin’s transition from a speculative asset to a functional monetary hedge.

“Bitcoin is quickly becoming less of a speculative asset and more of a functional monetary tool—especially for nations seeking to diversify from the dollar and minimize exposure to the US financial system,” Sigel recently wrote.

Sigel’s point speaks to a broader narrative: Bitcoin is increasingly seen as a strategic asset amid escalating geopolitical and trade tensions. This aligns with a recent US Crypto News publication, which indicated how Bitcoin is progressively presenting itself as a hedge against traditional finance (TradFi) and US treasury risks.

Therefore, Bitcoin’s potential to gain traction as an alternative reserve or settlement asset could rise. This optimism comes as more economies are increasing their distance from traditional US monetary influence.
