Tom Lee Doubles Down on His Bitcoin Price Prediction of $150,000 By End of 2024
Jul 04, 2024 at 01:30 am
In a pulsating burst of confidence, Fundstrat's lead researcher, Tom Lee, reaffirmed his bullish sentiment on Bitcoin, doubling down on his earlier predictions

Fundstrat’s lead researcher Tom Lee has doubled down on his bullish sentiment on Bitcoin, reiterating his earlier prediction that the trailblazing digital asset could soon skyrocket to a whopping $150,000.
Speaking to CNBC Television, Lee expressed his bullish enthusiasm for Bitcoin’s future. He reiterated his earlier prediction that the digital currency will hit a peak of $150,000 by the end of 2024, smashing previous records.
Earlier in May, the financial whizz-kid had made a bullish prediction for Bitcoin. His sharp analysis predicted a dramatic surge that will see Bitcoin hit $150,000 before the year grinds to a halt. Lee had pinned these optimistic projections on the cooling inflation in the US and a consequent rise in demand for Bitcoin. Now, he presents an interesting possibility of an even greater surge for BTC, driven by a critical upswing following the completion of Mt Gox’s pending Bitcoin repayment to creditors.
One interesting aspect of the entire scenario is Mt Gox’s upcoming Bitcoin redistribution. According to Lee, this move could potentially mark the beginning of a bear assault on Bitcoin’s price. Earlier this year, in June, Mt Gox announced that they will be initiating their repayment plans, valued at a staggering $9 billion, in BTC and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) this July. The battered exchange, which was fraudulently hacked in 2014, is set to refund and compensate their creditors through this Bitcoin redistribution.
However, given the size and scale of the proposed distribution, there are speculations on the chances of creditors selling off their newly recovered Bitcoin. This sentiment has been responsible for BTC’s recent decline, as nervous investors are exerting greater selling pressure.
Moreover, the value of Bitcoin also took a hit, falling below the $60,000 mark and declining further as eager miners sold off their Bitcoins to purchase more efficient mining equipment. However, Tom Lee believes that a distinct ‘rebound’ could occur once Mt Gox’s repayment process completes, leading to a resurgence of Bitcoin’s value in the latter half of the year.
Bitcoin’s value has ambled resolutely above the $60,000 threshold, currently standing at $62,523. Since early June, the cryptocurrency market has seen a rapid downward sprint—crashing down by nearly 20%—thanks to significant outflows from Spot Bitcoin ETFs.
But hope for the digital asset remains bright. As miners’ selling pressure tempers down and the broader crypto market achieves a modicum of stability, analysts predict that Bitcoin may be strapping its boots for a ground-breaking comeback.
CryptoQuant, a market intelligence platform, also seems to be bullish on Bitcoin, predicting a rapid upturn by Q3 2024. Furthermore, crypto analyst Ali Martinez echoes these bullish sentiments on Bitcoin’s price chart. Despite a “negative June” that saw the asset underperform significantly, Martinez anticipates a July resurgence, envisioning an average return of 7.98% and a potential price surge to $63,200 or even $63,800. As new strategies emerge and the dust settles, Bitcoin’s bullish prospects ensure that the adventure continues, revealing new twists at every turn.
