Scholar, author and performer Clay Jenkinson will channel the father of the atomic bomb J. The Cleve Carney Museum of Art, in cooperation with film director Joshua Tsui and Chicago Gamespace and inspired by Tsui’s 2020 documentary “Insert Coin,” will showcase classic arcade games, ephemera and video installations as part of “Insert Coin: Inside Midway’s Arcade Revolution.” The new exhibition will chronicle the rise of Chicago video game manufacturer Midway Games and detail the creation and impact of such seminal 1980s and 1990s games as Mortal Kombat 2, NBA Jam, Cruis’N USA and others.
