Polkadot (DOT) Will Host an AMA on X on December 12

Polkadot will host an 'Ask Me Anything' (AMA) session on X on December 12 at 14:00 UTC. During the session, there will be a conversation about how Web2 builders are getting started in crypto on Polkadot. Those interested in participating can submit their questions in advance by filling out this form.

The session will be streamed live on X and Polkadot's official YouTube channel. Afterward, it will be available on the X website and Polkadot's official podcast channel.

As a reminder, Polkadot is an open-source protocol co-founded by Dr. Gavin Wood, who also co-founded Ethereum. The protocol aims to advance blockchain technology by focusing on security, scalability, and innovation. This project is designed to create an infrastructure that supports new concepts while maintaining interoperability, marking the next stage in the evolution of blockchain technology.

Within Polkadot's ecosystem, individual blockchains are called "parachains," while the main chain is known as the "Relay Chain." The network facilitates continuous and seamless information exchange between these parachains and the Relay Chain, thus providing interoperability. Any developer or organization can create a custom parachain using Substrate, a platform for building cryptocurrencies and decentralized systems. Once connected to the Polkadot network, these parachains become interoperable with all others. The network validators are responsible for ensuring the security and validation of data across these parachains, contributing to the protocol's scalability.

DOT, the native token of Polkadot, grants its holders governance rights over the entire Polkadot platform, including setting network fees, voting on network upgrades, and managing parachains. Additionally, DOT is used to facilitate network consensus through staking, which encourages holders to follow the rules to avoid losing their stake. Finally, DOT is utilized for "bonding" when adding new parachains to the ecosystem. During bonding, the DOT is locked for the duration of the bonding period and is released once the parachain is removed from the ecosystem.
