MS Dhoni delivers classic one-liner in response to Ravi Shastri at RCB vs CSK toss

During the IPL 2025 coin toss for the RCB versus CSK match, MS Dhoni and Ravi Shastri engaged in a jovial exchange.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be aiming to build on their recent momentum when they take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2025 on Wednesday, May 7 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.

The two teams have met on several occasions over the years, and their encounters are always keenly anticipated by fans of both franchises.

Ahead of the clash, CSK legend MS Dhoni and former India coach Ravi Shastri engaged in a jovial exchange during the coin toss.

As Shastri quizzed Dhoni on how the Super Kings planned to counter RCB’s explosive opening batters, Dhoni playfully deflected the question, opting to focus on the upcoming game.

"Let it be plans, Ravi bhai," Dhoni quipped, stifling a laugh.

RCB's batting unit, especially in the opening stages, has indeed been a sight to behold.

Jacob Bethell, featuring in only his second IPL game, blazed to 55 runs off 33 balls, while Virat Kohli also displayed his class with a rapid 62 off 33.

The Challengers' strong powerplay performance, powered by Kohli and Bethell's stellar contributions, saw them smash 71 runs.

However, despite Dhoni's assertion that they would "play a good game," it was the Challengers who emerged victorious in a last-ball thriller.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, RCB raced to 171-5, with Bethell's second consecutive fifty and Kohli's 30-ball fifty setting the stage for a high-scoring encounter.

In response, C's pursuit was kept alive by Ayush Mhatre's magnificent 94 off 50 balls, the highest score by a batter this season.

However, Ben Cutting's yorker on the last ball sealed a one-wicket win for RCB, dashing C's hopes of a last-gasp escape.
