Meg Ryan made a grand return to the Met Gala after 23 years, joining the ranks of fashion icons like Zendaya, Cardi B and Kendall Jenner at the 2024 event.

The 62-year-old actress looked stunning in a sleeveless black gown from designer Michael Kors, featuring a sheer top adorned with sequined floral embellishments that flowed down the rest of the dress, tying into the "Garden of Time" theme.

Accessorizing with colorful jewelry, Ryan opted for a simple makeup look and her signature wavy bob hairstyle. At one point, Kors himself joined her for some photos, both donning matching dark sunglasses.

The actress appeared relaxed and confident at the event, interacting with other guests like Dua Lipa and Gabrielle Union. Her appearance at the 2024 Met Gala marked her first time since 2001, when the theme was "Jacqueline Kennedy: The White House Years."

At the time, Ryan had achieved great success in her career, known for her roles in romantic comedies like You've Got Mail (1998), which starred Tom Hanks.

Over two decades later, Ryan has returned to both the Met Gala and the genre of romantic movies, starring in the 2023 film What Happens Later with David Duchovny. In the film, they play exes who reconnect after being stranded at an airport due to a snowstorm.
