The 2025 Florida Innovation dollar, featuring a reverse design of the NASA Space Shuttle blasting off from the Kennedy Space Center, goes on sale today from the United States Mint. It is the third of four 2025-dated releases in the Mint’s American Innovation® $1 Coin Program and the 27th in the series overall.

Struck in circulating quality at the Philadelphia and Denver Mints, the coins are available in 25-coin rolls and 100-coin bags.

"For more than 60 years, NASA’s Kennedy Space Center has assembled, researched, launched, and landed spacecraft," said Kristie McNally, the Mint’s Acting Director. "The Space Shuttle, officially known as the Space Transportation System, remains one of the most iconic and influential spacecrafts in history. As the world’s first reusable spacecraft, it played a pivotal role in advancing space exploration."

Design for the Florida Innovation Dollar

On the dollar’s reverse (tails) side, the Space Shuttle is depicted lifting off from Launch Complex 39 at Florida’s Kennedy Space Center. Smoke from the solid rocket boosters billows below and to the sides, with stars appearing above. The design was created by U.S. Mint Artistic Infusion Program artist Ron Sanders and sculpted by Mint Medallic Artist Eric David Custer. Reverse inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "FLORIDA."

The obverse (heads) side features the Statue of Liberty, as seen on all coins in the program. The image was designed by Justin Kunz and sculpted by Phebe Hemphill. Obverse inscriptions read "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "$1," and a stylized gear privy mark also appears.

Incused edge inscriptions include the year of minting, the mint mark, and the phrase "E PLURIBUS UNUM."

Prices, Ordering and Product Limits

Florida Innovation dollars are available in 25-coin rolls priced at $36.25 and 100-coin bags at $123.50.

They can be ordered through the U.S. Mint’s online store for American Innovation products.

Production is limited to 9,100 rolls from the Philadelphia Mint and 8,050 from the Denver Mint, along with 3,650 bags from Philadelphia and 3,450 from Denver. An initial household order limit of 10 per product applies.

American Innovation Dollars for 2025

The Mint’s Innovation series began in 2018 with a single release honoring George Washington’s role in signing the nation’s first U.S. patent. Since then, the U.S. Mint has issued four new coins annually, each recognizing a groundbreaking innovation from a different U.S. state. Once complete, the program will feature designs representing all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the five U.S. territories: Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Northern Mariana Islands.

2025 Innovation dollars include:

In addition to rolls and bags, Innovation $1 coins are also featured in various other U.S. Mint numismatic products, including proof and reverse proof sets.
