A new digital project launched in the UAE will help verify the academic qualifications of private sector workers

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced the launch of a new digital project in the UAE to verify the academic qualifications of private sector workers.
The service, which is available to private sector employers and workers with academic degrees issued outside the UAE, will help to ensure that the qualifications being used in the employment process are accurate and can be easily verified. It also aims to reduce the amount of paperwork required for the process.
The service will be extended to include degrees issued within the UAE at a later stage. Users can access it via the MoHRE’s website, smart application, and business service centres across the country.
In a statement, MoHRE explained that the service covers skill levels 1 to 4, and can be accessed via a dedicated tab on the ministry’s website and smart application. The service can be used to verify a maximum of five degrees at a time, with a service fee of 50 dirhams for each degree.
"The ‘Academic Qualification Verification Project’ offers a range of benefits to government entities and the private sector, ensuring the accuracy and authenticity of academic qualifications used in the employment process through direct digital verification. This allows for more reliable hiring practices, reduces required paperwork, and streamlines the service into a unified verification process with a one-time fee," the ministry said in a statement.
"Moreover, the project aligns with the government's strategy to enhance digital services and transition towards a digital economy. It also supports the efforts to reduce economic burdens on both the government and private sector entities, ultimately contributing to a better economic ecosystem in the UAE."
The service is part of MoHRE's broader efforts to support the private sector and create a positive work environment in the country. It is hoped that the new project will help to further these aims.
