In a post made on May 26 via X (formerly Twitter), Coinbase Assets revealed a list of eight new digital assets now available on its platform — but solely for users in Germany.

Coinbase, the cryptocurrency exchange giant, has finally granted German users access to eight new tokens, surprising the global crypto community with the limited rollout. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Coinbase Assets announced the inclusion of Rocket Pool (RPL), Reserve Rights (RSR), Pudgy Penguins (PENGU), Renzo (REZ), Aethir (ATH), Syrup (SYRUP), Pendle (PENDLE), and Layer3 (L3) to its platform.
"Good news, Germany! 🇩🇪 We’re expanding the assets available on Coinbase to include...," the post reads.
The eight tokens will be accessible through Coinbase's mobile and desktop apps, where German users can buy, sell, receive, and store the assets. The platform also noted that some users might need to refresh or update their app to view the new listings.
This update comes as Coinbase is facing a lawsuit from 10,000 users who claim the platform harvested their biometric data without consent. The lawsuit, filed in San Francisco federal court, alleges that Coinbase violated a federal law that prohibits the collection of such data without prior authorization.
However, despite the lawsuit and the limited rollout of new tokens, Coinbase appears to be making progress in other areas. Earlier this month, the exchange was added to the S&P 500 Index, making it the first-ever crypto company to be included in the elite index. The addition came after Coinbase met all the requirements for the S&P 500, including a market capitalization of at least $10 billion and fully diluted shares outstanding of at least 100 million.
As Coinbase continues to expand its operations and offerings, the company is sure to remain a key player in the evolving cryptocurrency industry.
