What is MKR coin? Introduction to platforms where MKR coins can be bought and sold
MKR holders can participate in governance decisions such as adjusting stability fees and approving collateral types for the MakerDAO platform.
Oct 07, 2024 at 11:47 pm

What is MKR Coin?
Maker (MKR) is the governance token of the MakerDAO decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), a platform that enables users to create and manage collateralized debt positions (CDPs). CDPs allow users to borrow DAI, a decentralized stablecoin pegged to the value of the US dollar, by depositing ether (ETH) or other approved cryptocurrencies as collateral. MKR holders have the right to propose and vote on changes to the Maker protocol, such as the stability fee, the collateralization ratio, and the types of collateral that are accepted.
Platforms Where MKR Coins Can Be Bought and Sold
MKR coins can be bought and sold on a variety of cryptocurrency exchanges, including:
- Binance
- Huobi Global
- OKX
- Coinbase Pro
- Kraken
- Uniswap
- 1inch Network
Fees for Buying and Selling MKR
The fees for buying and selling MKR will vary depending on the exchange you use. However, most exchanges will charge a trading fee of between 0.1% and 0.5%. Some exchanges may also charge a withdrawal fee when you withdraw your MKR coins from the exchange.
How to Buy MKR
To buy MKR, you will need to create an account on a cryptocurrency exchange. Once you have created an account, you will need to deposit funds into your account. You can do this by transferring cryptocurrency from another wallet or by purchasing cryptocurrency with a credit card or debit card.
Once you have deposited funds into your account, you can place an order to buy MKR. When placing an order, you will need to specify the amount of MKR you want to buy and the price you are willing to pay. Once you have placed an order, it will be filled when the market price of MKR reaches the price you specified.
How to Sell MKR
To sell MKR, you will need to create an order to sell MKR on a cryptocurrency exchange. When placing an order, you will need to specify the amount of MKR you want to sell and the price you are willing to sell it for. Once you have placed an order, it will be filled when the market price of MKR reaches the price you specified.
