How to Get VLX (Velas)

Velas (VLX) is the native cryptocurrency of the Velas blockchain, a high-throughput, low-latency blockchain platform. VLX can be used to pay for transaction fees, stake on Velas validators, and participate in decentralized applications built on the Velas blockchain.

There are several ways to get VLX:

  1. Buy VLX on a cryptocurrency exchange. VLX is listed on several major cryptocurrency exchanges, including Binance, Bitfinex, and OKEx. You can create an account on one of these exchanges and purchase VLX using fiat currency or another cryptocurrency.
  2. Earn VLX through staking. Velas validators are responsible for securing the Velas blockchain. By staking VLX on a validator, you can earn a share of the block rewards. You can stake VLX through the Velas Web Wallet or a third-party staking provider.
  3. Participate in Velas decentralized applications (dApps). There are several dApps built on the Velas blockchain, including decentralized exchanges, yield farms, and prediction markets. You can use VLX to interact with these dApps and earn rewards.
  4. Get VLX airdrops. Occasionally, the Velas project team will airdrop VLX tokens to holders of other cryptocurrencies. You can follow the Velas project on social media to stay informed about upcoming airdrops.
  5. Mine VLX. VLX is a mineable cryptocurrency. You can mine VLX using a GPU or ASIC miner. However, mining VLX is not profitable for most people.

Once you have acquired VLX, you can store it in a cryptocurrency wallet. There are several different wallets that support VLX, including the Velas Web Wallet, the Ledger Nano X, and the Trezor Model T.
