How to use the Crypto.com Visa Card? (Crypto Spending)
After receiving your Crypto.com Visa Card, activate it in the app by verifying ID, entering CVV, and confirming card digits—then instantly use your virtual card.
Jan 04, 2026 at 11:20 pm
Card Activation Process
1. After receiving the physical Crypto.com Visa Card, users must log into the Crypto.com App and navigate to the “Card” section.
2. Tap “Activate Card” and follow the on-screen instructions to verify identity using government-issued ID and a selfie.
3. Enter the CVV code located on the back of the card and confirm the last four digits of the card number.
4. Once verified, the system instantly activates the card and displays the virtual card details for immediate use.
5. Users receive a push notification confirming successful activation along with a welcome message containing spending limits and cashback eligibility status.
Funding the Card Wallet
1. Open the Crypto.com App and go to the “Card” tab to access the card wallet interface.
2. Tap “Top Up” and select either fiat currency or supported cryptocurrencies such as CRO, BTC, ETH, or USDC.
3. For fiat top-ups, link a bank account or debit card and initiate a transfer; processing time varies between instant and three business days depending on region and method.
4. For crypto top-ups, scan the QR code or copy the wallet address provided in the app and send funds from an external wallet or exchange.
5. Funds appear in the card wallet after blockchain confirmation — typically within seconds for stablecoins and under two minutes for Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Making Purchases In-Store
1. Ensure the card is activated and has sufficient balance in the selected currency before heading to a merchant.
2. At checkout, insert the physical card into the terminal or tap it if contactless payment is enabled.
3. The terminal automatically converts the transaction amount into the card wallet’s base currency using real-time exchange rates published by Crypto.com.
4. If the wallet holds multiple assets, the system prioritizes stablecoin balances first, then CRO, followed by BTC and ETH based on predefined asset hierarchy settings.
5. A green checkmark appears on the terminal screen and the app sends an instant transaction receipt showing merchant name, amount, converted fiat value, and applied cashback percentage.
Online and Mobile Payments
1. During online checkout, select “Visa” as the payment method and enter the 16-digit card number, expiry date, and CVV.
2. For Apple Pay or Google Pay integration, open the respective digital wallet app, tap “Add Card”, and choose Crypto.com Card from the list of linked accounts.
3. Confirm the addition using biometric authentication; the virtual card is then ready for one-tap payments across compatible websites and apps.
4. Each online transaction triggers automatic conversion from the user’s selected funding source, with exchange rate locked at the moment of authorization.
5. Transaction history syncs across devices in real time, and users can toggle between viewing amounts in USD, EUR, GBP, or their local fiat currency.
Managing Spending Controls
1. Access the “Card Settings” menu to enable or disable contactless payments, ATM withdrawals, or international transactions.
2. Set daily, weekly, or monthly spending limits per category — including dining, travel, entertainment, and online services.
3. Freeze or unfreeze the card instantly via the app if loss or suspicious activity is suspected.
4. Assign custom nicknames to recurring merchants to simplify expense tracking and generate personalized spending reports.
5. View live transaction alerts with geolocation tags and merchant category codes directly in the notification center.
