How to use the dual-position mode on Binance Futures for hedging strategies?
币安U本位永续合约支持对冲模式(Dual-Position),允许同一交易对同时持有多空头寸,保证金、强平与资金费独立计算,需手动启用且不可与单向模式混用。(155字)

Dual-Position Mode Fundamentals
1. Dual-position mode allows traders to hold both long and short positions simultaneously on the same trading pair within a single futures account.
2. This mode is only available in USDT-margined perpetual contracts and requires explicit activation in the contract trading interface.
3. Unlike traditional one-way positions, dual-position mode treats long and short legs as independent units with separate margin allocation and liquidation triggers.
4. Activation does not alter leverage settings per position—each leg retains its individually assigned leverage level at open time.
5. The mode remains active across sessions unless manually disabled; it persists through browser refreshes and app relaunches.
Activation and Configuration Workflow
1. Navigate to Binance Futures interface, select a USDT-margined perpetual contract such as BTC/USDT.
2. Click the gear icon in the top-right corner of the trading panel and locate “Position Mode”.
3. Choose “Hedge Mode” from the dropdown menu instead of “One-Way Mode”.
4. Confirm the change via pop-up prompt—this action resets position aggregation logic and recalculates unrealized PnL separately for each direction.
5. Verify successful activation by checking the position table: two distinct rows must appear—one labeled “Long”, the other “Short”—even if one holds zero contracts.
Risk Isolation Mechanics
1. Margin for long and short positions is calculated and frozen independently using their respective entry prices and mark prices.
2. Liquidation occurs individually: a drop in BTC price may trigger long liquidation while leaving the short position fully intact.
3. Available balance updates in real time but excludes funds already allocated to either position’s initial margin or maintenance buffer.
4. Auto-deleveraging applies separately per position type—if triggered, only the losing side undergoes forced reduction without affecting the opposite leg.
5. Funding payments are computed per position: longs pay shorts when funding rate is positive; shorts pay longs when negative—no netting occurs between directions.
Hedging Execution Patterns
1. A spot holder with 2 BTC purchases 200 contracts of BTC/USDT short at 62,500 USDT to neutralize directional exposure.
2. When BTC price falls to 61,200, the short gains 1,300 USDT while the spot portfolio loses 1,300 USDT—net delta near zero.
3. Simultaneous long entry at 61,000 creates an arbitrage corridor: if basis widens beyond funding cost, the pair can be held until convergence.
4. Traders deploy partial hedges—e.g., shorting only 60% of spot holdings—to retain upside participation while capping drawdown risk.
5. Cross-margin utilization remains disabled under dual-position mode; isolated margin is enforced for every new order regardless of direction.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Does enabling dual-position mode affect existing open orders?Existing limit or stop orders remain active but will execute under the newly activated hedge logic—no cancellation or re-submission is required.
Q2: Can I switch back to one-way mode while holding both long and short positions? No. Binance blocks mode switching until all positions in both directions are fully closed or reduced to zero contracts.
Q3: Are trailing stop orders supported for each position independently?Yes. Each long or short position supports its own trailing stop configuration with unique activation price and callback rate.
Q4: Do funding fees accrue on zero-net positions?Yes. Funding is applied to each open position separately—even if long and short notional values match exactly, both legs incur funding charges or receipts based on prevailing rate sign.
