How to Open a Contract Account on DigiFinex: A Comprehensive Guide

DigiFinex, established in 2018, is a reputable cryptocurrency exchange platform that offers a wide range of digital asset trading options, including contract trading. Contract trading, also known as futures trading, allows users to speculate on the future price of an underlying asset without actually owning it.

If you're interested in exploring the world of contract trading on DigiFinex, this comprehensive guide will provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to successfully open a contract account.

Step 1: Create a DigiFinex Account

If you don't already have a DigiFinex account, you'll need to create one before you can open a contract account. The process is straightforward and can be completed in a few minutes.

  • Visit the DigiFinex website and click on "Sign Up" in the top right corner.
  • Enter your email address, choose a password, and agree to the terms of service.
  • You will receive a confirmation email. Click on the link in the email to activate your account.

Step 2: Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

For enhanced security, it's highly recommended that you enable 2FA on your DigiFinex account. This adds an extra layer of protection by requiring you to enter a one-time password (OTP) sent to your mobile phone or email every time you log in or make a transaction.

  • Go to your DigiFinex account settings and select "Security."
  • Choose the 2FA method you prefer (Google Authenticator or SMS).
  • Follow the instructions provided to set up 2FA.

Step 3: Apply for a Contract Account

Once your DigiFinex account is set up and secured, you can proceed to apply for a contract account.

  • Log in to your DigiFinex account and hover over "Derivatives" in the top menu.
  • Select "Contract" from the dropdown.
  • Click on "Apply for Contract Account."
  • Read and agree to the User Agreement for Contract Trading.
  • Click on "Confirm Application."

Your application will be reviewed by the DigiFinex team. Approval typically takes within 24 hours, but may take longer during busy periods.

Step 4: Fund Your Contract Account

After your contract account has been approved, you can start funding it with assets to be used for trading.

  • Go to "Derivatives" > "Contract" and select "Fund Account."
  • Choose the asset you want to transfer.
  • Enter the amount you want to transfer and click on "Confirm."

The funds will be transferred from your spot account to your contract account.

Step 5: Start Trading Contracts

With your contract account funded, you can start trading contracts on DigiFinex.

  • Go to "Derivatives" > "Contract" and select the contract you want to trade.
  • Choose the trade type (e.g., long or short).
  • Enter the order size and price.
  • Click on "Buy" or "Sell" to execute the trade.

Important Considerations

  • Contract trading involves higher risks than spot trading due to leverage. Always trade with caution and within your risk tolerance.
  • DigiFinex offers a range of contract products, including futures contracts and perpetual contracts. Choose the product that best suits your trading style and risk appetite.
  • Leverage is a double-edged sword. It can amplify both profits and losses. Use leverage wisely and monitor your positions closely.
  • Market conditions can change rapidly. Always have a trading strategy and be prepared to adjust your positions as needed.
