Avalanche (AVAX) is a proof-of-stake cryptocurrency that powers the Avalanche blockchain. The issuance price of AVAX coins refers to the initial price at which they were sold to the public during the project's token sale.

The AVAX token sale took place from September 15th to September 22nd, 2020.
The token was priced at $0.50 per AVAX during the sale.
A total of 42,197,750 AVAX tokens were sold during the token sale, raising a total of $21,098,875.

2. Understanding the Total Issuance of AVAX Coins

The total issuance of AVAX coins refers to the maximum number of AVAX coins that will ever be created. This amount is set at 720 million tokens.

The total issuance was determined by the Avalanche Foundation when the project was launched.
The tokens will be gradually released into circulation through various mechanisms, such as staking and network rewards.
As of January 2023, approximately 360 million AVAX coins have been issued, representing around 50% of the total supply.
