Tiger and 'tails' by Speaker Hicks, the coin landed on heads, securing Speaker Hicks' re-election. Similarly, the race for Second Speaker saw incumbent Thomasene Yahola Osborn pitted against newly elected Representative William Lowe. After two tied votes, a coin toss ultimately resulted in tails, re-electing Second Speaker Osborn.
