The mempool, which is a pool of unconfirmed Bitcoin transactions, has been experiencing congestion for several days. The backlog of transactions has caused the mempool to reach a size of 1.35 gigabytes, which is the largest it has been since November 2017.

The high transaction fees are being caused by OKX’s operations in processing user wallet transactions. The platform began processing the transactions with block 846,867. Since then, OKX has handled over 2,380 transactions, with an average fee rate of 246.65 sats/vbyte.
