A growing divide among U.S. states reveals opposing approaches to cryptocurrencies and blockchain innovation. While some states are opting for restrictive measures, others are evaluating ways to integrate new technologies into their local economies.

In Connecticut, recently passed legislation prevents the state from using cryptocurrencies in any government operations. The measure, identified as HB7082, was unanimously approved in both legislative houses on June 10 and will come into effect from October of this year.

Age verification for users under 18 and transparency about transaction terms will also be required.
