In Connecticut, recently passed legislation prevents the state from using cryptocurrencies in any government operations. The measure, identified as HB7082, was unanimously approved in both legislative houses on June 10 and will come into effect from October of this year.

In addition to banning government use of cryptocurrencies, the Connecticut law imposes new regulatory obligations on cryptocurrency companies. Age verification for users under 18 and transparency about transaction terms will also be required.
