Stacks STX Is a Weak Bitcoin Layer 2 Compared to ICP

Stacks STX is marketed as a Bitcoin Layer 2, but after reviewing the technology, token design, sBTC model, speed, security, and usability, I think Stacks looks weak compared to Internet Computer Protocol ICP. In this Stacks STX crypto review, I explain why I see major problems with Stacks as a Bitcoin L2, especially when compared to ICP’s ckBTC and full on-chain architecture. Stacks depends on STX, sBTC, community signers, Bitcoin block timing, and a separate ecosystem, while ICP can bring Bitcoin into a broader world-computer environment with ckBTC, canisters, Internet Identity, chain-key technology, and apps built fully on-chain. I also compare Stacks price action, Stacks ecosystem activity, sBTC security concerns, Clarity development difficulty, and the challenge of mass adoption against ICP’s ability to support websites, databases, AI apps, ckBTC, ckETH, and full-stack decentralized applications.
