XRP Has Officially Surpassed Ethereum (ETH) in Fully Diluted Market Cap
Apr 20, 2025 at 01:30 pm
Edoardo Farina recently drew attention to a significant market shift, posting on X that XRP has officially surpassed Ethereum (ETH) in fully diluted market capitalization.
In a post on X, Edoardo Farina highlighted a significant shift in the market, noting that XRP has officially surpassed Ethereum (ETH) in fully diluted market capitalization. According to Farina, XRP’s FDV reached $208.4 billion, closely followed by Ethereum’s $192.5 billion.
This development comes after XRP outperformed Ethereum for five consecutive months, a fact that Farina believes is evidence that “the flip has already begun.”
However, this time period is not a typo. Both tokens have only coexisted for about six months, as they were launched at different times.
Annually, XRP began 2025 in third place in terms of market cap, trailing Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum. But as of July 14, XRP had overtaken Ethereum to become the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap.
This shift occurred due to the strong performance of XRP in recent months, driven by a combination of institutional engagement and ecosystem growth.

Experts have long predicted that XRP will eventually overtake ETH. Now, with XRP outperforming Ethereum for over five months—the longest stretch since both tokens have coexisted—the possibility of a full market cap flip is gaining momentum.
Experts have long predicted that XRP will eventually overtake ETH. Now, with XRP outperforming Ethereum for over five months—the longest stretch since both tokens have coexisted—the possibility of a full market cap flip is gaining momentum.
However, despite this milestone, it’s worth noting that Ethereum still holds the second spot in total market capitalization due to a higher percentage of its supply being in circulation.
As the CEO of Alpha Lions Academy, Farina is a vocal fan of XRP and has kept a close eye on the two tokens’ performance.
Earlier this year, Farina predicted that XRP would soon overtake Ethereum in FDV. At the time, Ethereum had a FDV of $170 billion, while XRP’s FDV was $153 billion.
Now, as XRP’s FDV surpasses $208.69 billion and Ethereum’s FDV stands at $193.59 billion, it seems Farina’s prediction has come true.
