Trump Seeks to Drum Up Support from Crypto Community

Jun 19, 2024 at 06:28 pm

Donald Trump is looking to support the burgeoning crypto space by concentrating the market within US borders. That became clear in a rally earlier this week.

Trump Seeks to Drum Up Support from Crypto Community

Former US President Donald Trump has expressed his support for concentrating the crypto market within the United States.

Speaking at a rally earlier this week, Trump stated that he will “end Joe Biden’s war on crypto” if he were to be elected again.

“To further secure America’s future and create opportunity for young people,” he added.

Trump’s remarks provide some insight into how he will approach digital assets if he were to return to the White House.

Crypto markets have been largely unregulated to date, but many have argued that some regulatory guardrails are needed to protect investors and guarantee the safekeeping of deposits.

Trump seems to believe that the US should be the one to lead this effort.

“We will ensure that the future of crypto and the future of Bitcoin will be made in America, otherwise other countries are going to have it,” he stated.

On the one hand, his comments may be seen as an attempt to attract the attention of the crypto community ahead of the November election.

Crypto market participants in the US are growing by the day and are becoming a target group of voters both for Trump and for current President Joe Biden.

However, if the US maintains its dominant position over crypto, it will be tasked with expanding the market, introducing regulations, and fostering adoption in the world’s biggest economy.
